The European Homestay

At the European Homestay, we have, from the inception of the business, focused on maximising customer satisfaction and achieving customer delight. All our business operations, from the designing of the apartments, their furnishing, the planning and installing of the amenities, the choice of curtains, the selection of suppliers have been done with the sole objective of ensuring that our customers have peaceful, comfortable, luxurious and delightful holidays. We have, for this purpose, meshed European cleanliness and minimalism with Indian hospitality.

We have constantly asked our customers for their suggestions on what can be done to make their stays more comfortable, pleasant and luxurious, along with the preservation of the autonomy and the availability of local flavour, an essential element of homestay life. Targeting middle and upper middle class customers, we appreciate the importance of providing economically attractive options, as important for our European customers, who come on long vacations, and our Indian guests, who prefer short and frequent holidays. To gauge our success, we have encouraged them to give impartial reviews to our various business partners like Booking.com, Airbnb and VRBO. We work only with these three because of their focus on customer satisfaction and their global network. We have more than 100 customer reviews from these different platforms.

We have a full five-star rating on Airbnb and VRBO. Our success in Booking.com has been truly astonishing. Our Booking.com customers have given us an 8.9 Traveller Review Award and a 9.1 Owner Ranking, which taken together puts us in the top 10% of Booking.com properties worldwide. We are the most searched Booking.com property across all levels for North Goa, are considered equivalent to three-star full-service hotels and are their preferred partner.

We are providing you with some of these reviews, as well as small narratives on them and their backgrounds.

Volha and Polina are from Belarus and this was their first visit to Goa. They stayed with us for a fortnight before moving on to South Goa for a yoga course. We had to hold their hands for a week, arranging for yoga mats, specific condiments and foods and some other things. Staying in India, we really don’t realise how advanced our country is until we hear foreigners expressing wonder at our progress in IT and various other areas. Please take a look at their video.

Karn was one of our first Airbnb customers, a young bachelor who loved dogs and traveling. He came to us knowing fully well that we had just started operations.

He stayed with us for 10 days, discussed at length with our executives and gave them valuable advice on what customers wanted. He was particularly impressed with the goodies stocked in the fridge and the breakfast we provided, which was better than any other homestay in Goa.

“I spent a very comfortable month at Riverside, the European homestay, and would like to thank the firm’s executives. My room was cleaned every day and the food supplies were replenished whenever I needed them.

I am certainly coming back.”

Ana is an artist and comes to Goa every year to work with Goan and international artists around the end of the year.

She is a friendly person and spent hours with our executives, explaining her passion for Indian art, especially body art. A gregarious Swede with a passion for travel, she loved the cleanliness of our property, the operational efficiency, the obsession with cleanliness, the safety of the surroundings and the friendly and inclusive Goan environment.

Natalia is a young Russian from Moscow who works online as a marketing manager and talks with major clients all day. She found us on Booking.com and confirmed her booking. We saw that her flight was landing at Dabolim, South Goa at 11.30 pm and that she was travelling alone. We did not hesitate in sending her a complimentary pickup vehicle and she was in her room by 1 pm. She is a frequent visitor to Goa and knows the place.

She hired a motorcycle the very next day and was out as soon as she finished her work. She is coming back this December and will always be one of our favourite guests.

“Situated in a quiet area near the Chapora River. I lived in a 2-room apartment on the third floor. There is a parking space. Everything was just great! I didn’t have any household problems at all – everything you could wish for was there: from washing powder, shampoo and soap to food in the refrigerator. Super comfortable! Everything is new, clean, renovated. (Special thanks to the staff – now we are friends!)”

“Good afternoon. We would like to thank you for a wonderful room. We lived comfortably. We wish you prosperity and more good customers.

When we come to Goa we will definitely stay with you.”

 – Anastasia

Anastasia came to the homestay at 9 in the evening and wanted some groceries and medication for her child. Our executives arranged for a scooter even at that hour and she was able to get what she needed because of the location of our property near supermarkets and 24-hour medical shops. She was very particular in the beginning about getting her breakfast items but soon realised that everything was on tap. She spent 45 days at the property and her review will tell you what she thought of it.

Poirot and his wife are from France and they are touring the world in their motorcycle with a sidecar. They stayed only for 3-4 days but enjoyed every bit of it. They particularly liked our breakfast and took home a jar of the jam we usually provide to our guests.

The location was absolutely perfect—peaceful riverside views with a refreshing breeze, yet close enough to explore the beaches and nightlife of Goa. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. The rooms were clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated, with all necessary amenities provided. The homestay had a very cozy and European vibe, and the attention to detail in the decor was impressive. We especially loved relaxing on the patio in the mornings with a coffee while watching the river.

After my stay I am rejuvenated and recharged to brace upto the perils of city life. Hasta la vista!

Everything was just perfect: The Host, His Team of two, always available, very responsive and ever so courteous. The Location of the property was what I was looking forward to: in the midst of the Goan village, serene, green and calming! The Chapora River was a stone’s throw away which added to the unique charm of the property. While at the property I was reminded of a couplet by Amir Khusro which roughly translated in English means if there is a paradise on earth, it is this, it is this, it is this. Next time, when city life becomes too difficult to bare, I am going to seek refuge here

I am scratching my head on this one but really couldnt find any fault with the property per-se. However, the premises next door, on which the Host and his Team have no control could have been more tidy. Parking could have been more spacious.

Thanks to Mr. Majumdar and Miss Sneha for your hospitality. From my experience of 13 vacations in goa Riverside, The European Homestay  (yes i copy pasted the name) is the best accommodation ever. p.s: i stayed in variety of places from basic tent type lame huts on the anjuna beach to cidade and exotic of taj. But this homestay hits you different, right from start the caretaker was enquiring and offering route suggestions about my journey to the goa(by car). The check in: no nonsense,no lobby to make you wait, no need to provide your identification while waiting for room , INSTEAD after reaching the location you pick the key from your safe box, and get into your stay. Along with great bedroom there was also this 2 in 1 couch for impromptu activities, Then an as usual eggs(organic and Omega rich variant) , bread , butter and jam along with a mini kitchen with toaster, induction, electric kettle, and fridge. Btw got a pretty good port wine too

Regret that I didn’t stay here during my earlier visits
